Coffee and cannabis, we’ve spoken about their magical connection before. While you may know where to get the best homegrown, AKA: your own yard, it might be more tricky finding the top coffee shops in Cape Town!
We decided to put down our pipes for a while and try out some nice little shops around Cape Town, with a focus on the Kloof Road area.
Tamboers Winkel
This quaint little cafe is nestled just off Kloof Street, and offers all-day eats and coffee.
The vibe is relaxed, and if you are in the mood for stocking up the drinks cabinet, you can.
But for us the slow brewed coffee and pastries are simply a must!
The Power and the Glory
It’s one of Cape Town’s iconic corner coffee shops and has been around for a number of years.
While it is both a day and night venue, we’re going to be focusing on getting in that wake and bake session with a strong cup of coffee.
And if you’re in the mood for a good hotdog, this is your place.
Molten Toffee
If you’re looking at soaking up the real Kloof Street vibe while, brushing shoulders with artists and students… who are trying to become artists…
Well, Molten Toffee is the coffee community you’ll fall in love with in an instant!
Serving Cape Town’s best toastie* (self-claimed, but we believe them), if you feel like ordering something tasty from them, you can WhatsApp orders to +27 83 703 1162.
Beleza Restaurant
Yes, this isn’t technically a coffee shop, more of an entrepreneurial blend of vintage clothing and restaurant that serves Portuguese and Italian cuisine, it also makes a fantastic breakfast and coffee.
On the corner of Kloof Nek and Burnside Road, it’s a fantastic venue to people-watch as they make their way to work.
If you’re looking for a relaxed way to soak up that morning buzz, there’s no better venue.
Yours Truly
This is truly a Cape Town favourite, offering loads of foliage under its Jacaranda tree. We love it simply because of all the greenery and plant life.
It’s a venue where you can easily lose track of time, eventually requiring a return call for the menu to order an ice-cold beer.
We really love hanging out at Yours Truly Kloof.
Those Are Our Top Coffee Shops in Kloof
We’re well aware that there are many, many more coffee shops in the Kloof area. But for now, let’s just say we’re done.
If you have any other suggestions to list, let us know in the comments below!
